What to do

From the sea to the mountain, a wide range of landscapes that gives a great choice to people who love outdoor sport. The sea doesn’t stay only for swimming. During winter it becomes also the reign of surfers and sailing enthusiasts and almost every sea town has sailing schools for adults and children. The sea bottom presents wonderful sceneries for those who love diving. It is an area of both scientific and sporting interests where it is possible to look for fantastic specimen of sea flora and fauna, but also for naval finds.

The waters of Savona area are the heart of the Santuario dei Cetacei (Cetaceans Sanctuary) protected area; with a bit of chance it is possible to sight whales, dolphins and sperm whales and everyone can leave for a boat excursion with a skilful staff.

The hills and the woods are perfect for cyclers who can arrive in a few kilometres from sea level up to a thousand meters height by less or more tortuous little roads. There are also organized tours that can be booked by those who want to experience safely unknown paths. Looking up to the rocks it is possible to see the climbers clung on the rocks; also amateurs climbers use these equipped practice walls that give the chance to live alpinism ad a pleasant outdoor sport.

On the hills everyone can venture on easy or difficult paths that lead to wonderful views. Those who love paragliding and hang gliding or horse riding can find very good places as well. People with disabilities can take part, all the year long, to sport activities, both at the sea and at the hinterland, especially planned for them.

Besides for those who stay here on holiday, every town on the coast gives lots of sport practice opportunities: tennis fields, skating rinks, bowls club, aquagym… People fond of golf can’t avoid stake themselves on Garlenda and Albisola golf fields.
